ESG competency needs analysis for Cultural Professionals in the GLAM Sector

Driving sustainable transformation with ESG Competencies.

We invite you to take part in this survey about sustainability-related knowledge and skills in the GLAM sector (galleries, libraries, archives, and museums).

Many GLAM organisations already contribute to sustainability through their work with collections, audiences, education, buildings, and community relationships.

However, the term ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) is still new or not widely used in many cultural institutions.

For this reason, we use a simple and practical understanding of ESG, adapted to the GLAM context:

Environmental: responsible use of energy and resources, climate control in buildings, sustainable exhibition and preservation practices.

Social:
inclusion, access, participation, community engagement, and public value.

Governance: transparency, ethics, accountability, data protection, and organisational responsibilities.
